Source system analyst

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Source System Analyst to join our dynamic team. As a Source System Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing, understanding, and integrating data from various source systems into our data ecosystem. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess data quality, and ensure smooth data ingestion processes.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand complex system requirements and translate them into integrated, scalable technology solutions.
• Analyze source system data structures, schemas, and business logic to understand data semantics and relationships.
• Assess data quality and integrity within source systems and identify areas for improvement and cleansing.
• Design and implement data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to ingest data from source systems into our data ecosystem.
• Develop and maintain data mappings, transformation rules, and data lineage documentation to ensure traceability and data lineage.
• Monitor data ingestion processes to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Work closely with data engineers and database administrators to optimize data extraction and ingestion performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integration and ingestion.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• 5 years of experience in data analysis, data integration, or related roles, with expertise in analyzing and integrating data from source systems.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts and SQL proficiency.
• Experience with ETL tools (Microsoft is preferred)
• Familiarity with data modeling concepts and techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex data structures and business logic.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Experience with source systems in various formats such as databases, APIs, flat files, etc., is a plus.
• Certifications in data analysis or related technologies are a plus.
