Director of English Language Program Department/Office

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Development:

  • Collaborate with faculty and instructional designers to develop engaging and effective English-language courses and programs.
  • Tailor the curriculum to meet the needs of diverse student populations.

• Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Design assessment tools and methodologies to measure student progress and proficiency in English language skills.
  • Analyze assessment data to inform instructional strategies and curriculum enhancements.

• Faculty and Staff Support:

  • Provide professional development opportunities and resources to improve English language proficiency.
  • Offer workshops, training sessions, and support mechanisms for communication skills in an English-speaking academic environment.

• Student Support Services:

  • Oversee comprehensive support services including tutoring, language labs, and conversation clubs.
  • Facilitate language acquisition and mastery among students.

• Quality Assurance:

  • Establish mechanisms to ensure effectiveness and relevance of English language programs.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and assessments to maintain high standards.

• Collaboration and Partnerships:

  • Foster partnerships with academic departments, international organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Enhance English language learning opportunities through collaborations.

• Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage budget for the English Language Program Department/Office.
  • Ensure efficient allocation of resources to support programmatic goals.

• Leadership and Supervision:

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to the department/office.
  • Supervise staff and faculty, fostering a collaborative work environment.

• Research and Innovation:

  • Stay updated on trends, research, and best practices in English language teaching and learning.
  • Explore innovative approaches and technologies for enhanced instruction and student engagement.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or doctoral degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in English language program administration, curriculum development, and instructional leadership.
• Expertise in English language teaching methodologies, curriculum design, and assessment strategies.
• Experience providing professional development and support to faculty and staff in language acquisition and proficiency.
• Knowledge of accreditation standards and regulatory requirements in higher education English language programs.
• Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proactive attitude, commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Good listener, skilled in understanding diverse perspectives
• Proficiency in English required; proficiency in Uzbek and Russian languages is a plus.
