IT Asset Manager

About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented IT Asset Manager to oversee the complete lifecycle of IT assets within our organization. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient tracking, cost optimization, and compliance while managing hardware, software, and service-related assets. This role plays a crucial part in reducing costs, enhancing productivity, and mitigating risks associated with IT asset management.

Key Responsibilities:

• IT Asset Lifecycle Management: Oversee all stages of the IT asset lifecycle, from procurement and deployment to upgrades and decommissioning. Ensure timely maintenance and disposal of outdated equipment.

• Asset Inventory Management: Maintain an up-to-date and accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, and cloud services. Conduct regular audits to verify asset conditions and usage.

• Software Asset Management: Monitor software licenses, ensure compliance with licensing agreements, and manage renewals to avoid unnecessary costs and legal risks.

• Cost Optimization: Identify redundant or underutilized assets, propose cost-effective strategies, and prepare IT asset budgets and expense forecasts.

• Vendor and Contract Management: Manage relationships with vendors and negotiate favorable pricing and service agreements. Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and oversee the timely procurement of IT resources.

• Compliance and Risk Mitigation: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and cybersecurity standards. Implement measures to prevent unauthorized asset usage and data breaches.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.

• Hands-on experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) tools and practices.

• Strong knowledge of IT asset lifecycle management, including hardware and software asset tracking.

• Experience managing vendor contracts and IT procurement processes.

• Familiarity with software licensing models (SaaS, on-premise, cloud) and compliance regulations.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in IT Asset Management (e.g., IAITAM, ITIL, or similar frameworks).

• Experience with Configuration Management Databases (CMDB) and IT Service Management (ITSM) tools.

• Knowledge of financial planning and budgeting for IT assets.
