Juru is looking for an Environmental Project Coordinator with a desire to work in the energy and infrastructure sectors to join our Environmental team of the Sustainability Business Unit in our Tashkent office, Uzbekistan.

You will be part of the fast-growing, positive and goal-oriented team that supports Juru in delivering consultancy services related to Environmental and Social impact assessment, environmental monitoring and due diligence across some of the most high-profile energy and infrastructure projects in the region.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead a team during development of ESIA and national EIA processes;
  • Communicate with Clients: regular project updates, monitor task deadlines, etc;
  • Coordinate the experts (national/international) i.e., prepare agreements, ensure tasks are completed as per required standards, prepare invoices, etc;
  • Conduct stakeholder consultations for ongoing/planned projects;
  • Provide guidance and interpretation of relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to environmental/biodiversity and management for experts.
  • Arrange and conduct baseline studies if needed;
  • Stay up to date with local and international environmental and social regulations;
  • Assist with ad-hoc duties of the Environmental team, as required.

Key requirements:

  • A degree in ecology, chemistry, biology or environmental science/engineering or similar;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental sector;
  • Experience working on Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) or national Environment impact assessment (EIA) projects is considered a valuable asset;
  • Knowledge of national EIA and international ESIA (IFC, ADB, EBRD policies) regulatory requirements is an asset;
  • Excellent report writing and technical reviewing skills;
  • Excellent command of English, Russian, Uzbek is an asset;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with stakeholders and work collaboratively with project teams;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Familiarity with relevant software and tools, such as ArcGIS, Google Earh, QGIS;
  • Readiness for trips within Uzbekistan and CIS countries (up to 50% of time);
