Procurement specialist

Procurement Engineer responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring technical materials, equipment, and services. Combines engineering expertise with procurement best practices to ensure cost-effective, quality acquisitions that meet technical specifications and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze technical specifications and requirements for materials, components, and equipment
• Evaluate supplier capabilities and technical qualifications
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define procurement requirements and specifications
• Identify, qualify, and develop relationships with suppliers and vendors
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with quality standards
• Develop cost models and conduct cost analysis for procurement decisions
• Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards
• Support project teams with procurement planning and execution
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet project schedules
• Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams
• Manage procurement documentation and maintain accurate records

• Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Management, Economics or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or engineering roles
• Experience with technical procurement processes and vendor management

• Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of construction, civil engineering, power engineering and technical specifications
• Proficiency in procurement software, MS Office and ERP systems
• Knowledge of contract negotiation and supplier management
