Head of the Department of Software Development and Programming

PDP University is a modern, innovation-focused higher education institution based in Tashkent. We are seeking an experienced and visionary academic leader for the position of Head of the Department of Software Development and Programming.

The successful candidate will lead the academic, research, and administrative activities of the department, with a focus on aligning programs with market demands, advancing research initiatives, and supporting students’ successful career placement.

• Academic and Strategic Leadership

• Defining the strategic direction for the department’s development and the field of Software Engineering within the university.

• Continuously analyzing market and technology trends to update and enhance academic programs.

• Implementing innovative teaching and learning methods.

• Curriculum Development and Market Alignment

• Leading the design and revision of curricula in line with current industry requirements and international standards.

• Establishing partnerships with IT companies and employers to ensure the relevance of course content.

• Supporting accreditation processes and alignment with educational standards.

• Faculty Management and Recruitment

• Selecting, training, and managing faculty and administrative staff within the department.

• Evaluating faculty performance and organizing professional development activities.

• Ensuring timely grading, publication of course syllabi, and adherence to academic deadlines.

• Student Success and Employability Support

• Enhancing student satisfaction through surveys, feedback, and continuous improvement of teaching quality.

• Supporting graduate employability by building employer relationships, organizing internships, and providing career counseling.

• Ensuring high levels of engagement, academic achievement, and student support.

• Digital Transformation and Platform Utilization

• Actively implementing and utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS), Bitrix24, BTEC, and other online platforms to enhance educational effectiveness.

• Providing support for faculty and students in using digital tools.

• Scientific Research and Innovation

• Promoting faculty and student research activities, publications, and project development.

• Building strategic research partnerships with local and international organizations.

• Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Monitoring the quality of educational processes and student achievements.

• Preparing for accreditations and implementing internal control systems for continuous improvement.

• Master’s degree (MA) or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in academia or the IT sector, including at least 2 years in a leadership or administrative role.

• Experience in developing academic programs, curriculum planning, and faculty coordination.

• Scientific publications and teaching experience are an advantage.

• Proficiency in digital platforms such as LMS, Bitrix24, and BTEC.

• Languages: Fluency in Uzbek and English is mandatory; knowledge of Russian is desirable.
