The Head of Academic Affairs is responsible for leading and managing all academic processes at PDP University, including curriculum development, faculty coordination, implementation of academic policies, accreditation procedures, and quality assurance. The role also entails direct oversight of the Registrar’s Office to ensure accurate academic record-keeping, effective academic operations, and management of student data. This position plays a key role in upholding high academic standards in alignment with international best practices and national education reforms.
Responsibilities:-
Strategic Management and Policy Development

Lead the development and implementation of academic strategies aligned with the university’s mission and international standards.

Ensure that academic activities comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education and international accreditation standards.

Integrate academic goals into the university’s strategic planning.

Oversight of the Registrar's Office
-
Organize and supervise the operations of the registrar’s office, including student registration, class scheduling, grade recording, and preparation of academic documents.

Ensure the accuracy, security, and confidentiality of academic records in accordance with university policies and legal requirements.

Collaborate with the IT department to develop and support electronic academic management systems.

Oversee the timely issuance of academic transcripts, diplomas, and other official documents.

Academic Program Management and Curriculum Development

Coordinate the development, review, and evaluation of academic programs in alignment with the national qualifications framework and international standards.

Collaborate with faculties and departments to ensure the quality and relevance of academic courses.

Maintain documentation and archival records of all curriculum and program changes.

Faculty Coordination and Staff Development

Coordinate faculty recruitment, onboarding, and evaluation processes in collaboration with HR and faculty leadership.

Organize professional development, pedagogical training, and mentorship programs for faculty members.

Encourage research activities and academic publications as part of faculty responsibilities.

Quality Assurance and Accreditation

Lead internal audits and evaluations of the academic process.

Coordinate efforts to obtain and maintain national and international accreditations (e.g., licensing, QAA, ABET).

Monitor academic documentation and reporting to ensure continuous improvement in education quality.

Academic Calendar and Timetable Management

Plan and manage the academic calendar, including registration periods, examination sessions, grade submissions, and graduation timelines.

Coordinate class schedules and faculty workload in collaboration with deans and department heads.

Student Academic Support and Policy Implementation

Ensure the effective operation of academic advising and student support systems.

Oversee fair and transparent procedures for handling academic complaints, appeals, and disciplinary cases.

Analyze student performance data and implement support measures for students at risk of dismissal.

Digitalization and Innovation in Education

Implement modern information technologies to support academic processes, including learning management systems (LMS) and electronic assessment tools.

Lead digital transformation projects in academic operations and develop data analytics systems.

External Relations and Collaboration
-
Develop partnerships with domestic and international educational institutions, employers, and government bodies.

Represent the university at academic conferences, forums, and professional associations.

Master’s degree (preferably PhD) in Education, Educational Management, Curriculum Development, or a related field.

Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in leading academic processes and operations, preferably in a higher education institution.

Proven experience in managing registrar activities and developing academic policies.

Fluency in Uzbek and English is required; proficiency in Russian is desirable.

Experience in participating in national and international accreditation processes.

Knowledge of higher education reforms in Uzbekistan and credit-based education systems.

Experience working with academic and student information management systems (SIS, LMS).
