Responsibilities:
  • Construction Quality Standards: Knowledge of international standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO/IEC 17025); Familiarity with ASME, ASTM, AWS, ACI, IEC, and project-specific specs, local codes and standards: KMK, ShNK, PUE, SNIP

    QA/QC Documentation: ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), Method of Statements, NCRs, RFI preparation, Quality dossiers, handover documents and final documentation

    Inspection & Testing Techniques:

    Civil: Rebar inspection, concrete mix & curing, compaction, foundations;

    Electrical: Cable laying, terminations, insulation resistance, meggering;

    Mechanical: Welding inspection, torquing, hydrotesting, NDT coordination

    Solar: Pile driving, module alignment, string testing, IV curve tracing

    Root Cause Analysis: Implementing corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)

    Construction Codes and Regulations: Knowledge of local authority requirements, Familiarity with HSE procedures & integration with QA/QC

    Project Management Tools: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Document control systems

    Laboratory Testing Coordination: Material sampling and testing (soil, concrete, aggregates, etc.), Coordination with accredited laboratories and understanding lab results

    Calibration & Test Equipment: Monitoring calibration schedules and records, ensuring equipment used is certified and traceable

    Welding and NDT (if applicable): Familiarity with WPS, PQR, WPQ, NDT techniques: VT, PT, MT, UT, RT

  • Communication & Reporting: Clear written and verbal communication with contractors, clients, and stakeholders, Preparing and presenting QA/QC dashboards and reports

    Leadership & Team Coordination: Managing QA/QC inspectors and lab technicians, Coordinating with construction, HSE, and engineering teams

    Risk Management: Identifying quality risks early and implementing mitigation plans

    Client & Stakeholder Management: Handling client inspections and quality-related meetings, Ensuring client satisfaction in quality deliverables

Requirements:
  • Quality Planning and Documentation:
  • Develop, review, and implement Project Quality Plans and Site-Specific QA/QC Procedures in line with ISO 9001.

    Prepare and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for civil, electrical, mechanical, and commissioning works related to substation, OHTL, PV and BESS.

  • Inspection & Testing
  • Supervise and coordinate inspections and tests in accordance with ITPs for:

    Civil works (foundations, trenches, cable ducts, pile driving for PV structures)

    Electrical works (transformers, GIS, AIS, circuit breakers, disconnectors, busbars)

    PV modules and mounting structures, BESS units and PCS/inverter systems

    Overhead lines (poles, towers, conductors, insulators, sagging and tensioning)

  • Non-Conformance and Corrective Action
  • Identify and document non-conformities (NCRs), propose corrective/preventive actions, and verify implementation.

    Track and manage site observations, punch lists, and closure of open quality issues.

    Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) when recurring quality issues are identified.

  • Contractor and Vendor Oversight
  • Review and approve subcontractor and supplier QA/QC documentation.

    Monitor subcontractor quality performance and compliance with project and regulatory standards.

    Conduct audits of vendors/manufacturers (e.g., cable, modules, GIS panels, batteries).

  • Quality Records and Reporting
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all inspections, tests, NCRs, and audit findings.

    Prepare and submit weekly and monthly QA/QC reports to Project Management and Client.

    Ensure As-Built documentation is compiled and submitted as per turnover requirements.

  • Coordination and Communication
  • Interface with Client, Consultant, Third-Party Inspectors (TPI), and regulatory authorities for quality-related matters.

    Coordinate with Construction, Commissioning, and HSE teams to align on quality expectations.

    Facilitate QA/QC meetings, toolbox talks, and quality training sessions.

  • Required Qualifications and Skills. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering. QA/QC certifications (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ASQ CQA) preferred.

    Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of QA/QC experience in EPC projects for high-voltage substations, transmission lines, or solar PV/BESS systems.
