Hub / Regional manager (coordinator of power plants)

Reports to:

O&M Senior manager.

Job purpose:

To oversee the operation and maintenance activities of a 2GW utility-scale solar photovoltaic plant ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of service delivery by strategically managing resources, implementing best industry practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement to eventually achieve operational excellence that meets contractual obligations.

To demonstrate effective leadership, coordination, cost management and innovation to drive the plant profitability while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

Job Description:

• He shall be also the main interface with the Off Taker and LTA (Lenders Technical Advisors) for any inspections.
• He will review and submit all the main Monthly report for the stakeholders and shareholders
• He is involved for the sub-contractor selection, management and external resources where required and report to project company for approval Qualifications and Core Competences.
• He manages relations with the Owner making sure that all the contractual aspects and any other request of the Owner are fulfilled, reporting all necessary contractual information to the Local Grid Responsible (for the Energy Production and PPA Agreements) and to all the Lender’s Technical advisors about other Contracts.
• He oversees all the technical aspects regarding maintenance procedures, planning, supervision & health and safety aspects. Able to monitor the plant, recognize further problem and react putting in place all the necessary action to activate and drive the on-Site team with help from the relative Lead Site Engineer of each plot that will be in direct communications.
• He participates in continuous improvement initiatives and associated periodic meeting.
• He ensures contractual performances are achieved
• He validates the budget , built by the financial team.
• He validates the safety politic and the purchase politic.

Responsibilities in HSE, operational and maintenance planning and execution:

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the solar PV plant to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
• Monitor plant performance metrics and implement operational adjustments as necessary to meet performance targets.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for plant operations.
• Ensure all staff are trained and adhere to established SOPs and safety protocols. Allocate and manage resources effectively to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure the availability of necessary tools, equipment, and materials for plant operations.
• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to comply with O&M agreement.
• Oversee corrective maintenance activities to promptly address and resolve any equipment failures or operational issues.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements. Use maintenance data to analyse trends and improve maintenance strategies.
• Monitor and analyse plant performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Implement strategies to enhance plant efficiency, output, and reliability.
• Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management, SPV and stakeholders.
• Highlight key performance indicators (KPIs), operational achievements, and areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
• Develop and enforce safety protocols to protect the well-being of employees and the environment.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans to address potential incidents and emergencies.
• Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions to ensure staff preparedness.

Responsibilities in Operational management:

• Strategically internalize key operational functions, by establishing robust Operation and Maintenance know-how aimed at enhancing plant performance and optimizing operating costs.
• Lead and manage the plant operations and maintenance team, ensuring effective teamwork, collaboration and cross-functional synergies.
• Establish a long-term approach to ensure independence in operating complex functions by in-house team.

Plant Budget Planning and Cost Controls:

• Develop and manage the operational and maintenance budget for the plant as approved by MSTS.
• Ensure cost-effective use of resources and adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Monitor and control operational and maintenance expenses to achieve financial targets including manpower and spare parts costs.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising plant performance or safety.
• Contribute to the strategic delivery of optimal financial and commercial performance of the plant.

Responsibilities in Management of O&M agreement, delivery and workforce:

• Oversee the management and execution of Operation and Maintenance (O&M) agreement, ensuring strict adherence to their terms and conditions, as well as the defined scope of work.
• Ensure the completeness and timely of services rendered, mitigates risk exposure while identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to enhance company revenue.
• Lead and establish the overall operational indicators for the plants to meet the contractual obligations on plant's performance and availability.
• Maintain effective communications with SPVs, sub-contractors, OEMs, consultants, and advisors on plant operations related issues.

Internal: O&M Senior Manager, Senior accountant, HR representative, Lead Site Engineer
External: Client, Lenders Technical Advisors, Sub-contractors, Third Party Vendors.
