The PE Teacher in an IB Early Years setting plays a crucial role in supporting the physical, social, and emotional development of young children (ages 2–6). Through movement, play, and exploration, the teacher fosters curiosity, balance, coordination, and teamwork — fully aligned with the IB philosophy of holistic and inquiry-based education.

1. Curriculum Development and Delivery

Plan and conduct physical activities that support the comprehensive development of young children — helping them grow physically, emotionally, and socially.

Motor Skills Development: Design activities that help children build gross and fine motor skills, coordination, and spatial awareness.

Learning Through Play: Encourage creativity and exploration through movement, dance, games, and interactive exercises suitable for preschool-aged learners.

2. Social and Emotional Development

Promote teamwork, empathy, patience, and confidence through group games and cooperative play.

Support children’s self-regulation and emotional expression through mindful movement and physical routines.

3. Health and Well-being

Introduce basic health and hygiene concepts in playful, age-appropriate ways.

Teach the importance of movement, nutrition, and rest for a healthy lifestyle.

4. Collaboration and Interdisciplinary Learning

Work closely with homeroom and specialist teachers to integrate PE into transdisciplinary IB units (e.g., “Who We Are”, “How the World Works”).

Participate in collaborative planning and reflection meetings.

5. School Life and Community Engagement

Organize small-scale sports events, family fitness days, and movement-based assemblies.

Support the school’s overall mission of fostering well-rounded, internationally minded learners.

6. Professional Development

Engage in continuous learning and professional growth aligned with IB philosophy and early childhood education standards.

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Early Childhood Education, Sports Science, or a related field.

Minimum 2 years of experience teaching PE in an Early Years.

Strong understanding of early childhood physical and cognitive development.

Experience in integrating movement with inquiry-based learning.

Excellent communication skills and ability to create a nurturing, inclusive environment.

Fluency in English and Russian (spoken and written); knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
- Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 17:00.
