Business Analyst (Octane)

About the Project
Fuel card sales in the U.S. (all sales are conducted within the United States).
Project launch: March 2024.
Part of a logistics group: The project is a division of a U.S. trucking logistics group, which is the market leader in Uzbekistan.
The company is a registered IT Park resident with offices in Tashkent (two offices), Chicago, and Orlando

Purpose of the Role

The Business Analyst plays a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical implementation. The purpose of this role is to gather, analyze, and document requirements, translate them into actionable tasks for the development team, and ensure that delivered solutions meet business objectives and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and document business requirements and translate them into detailed functional specifications.

• Study technical documentation and prepare comprehensive integration requirements and user stories.

• Create and manage test cases, test plans, and bug reports in Jira.

• Perform functional, regression, end-to-end, and mobile testing across multiple platforms.

• Identify, document, and track bugs throughout the development lifecycle.

• Collaborate closely with developers, designers, and product managers to ensure requirements are clearly understood and properly implemented.

• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and validate new features before release.

• Provide clear and structured feedback to stakeholders and drive issue resolution.

• Demonstrate leadership in prioritizing testing efforts, mentoring junior QA members, and ensuring overall quality standards are met.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience as a QA Engineer, Business Analyst, or in a combined BA/QA role.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and similar project management tools.

• Excellent understanding of SDLC and QA methodologies.

• Experience in testing web and mobile applications (iOS/Android).

• Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger).

• Basic understanding of SQL for data validation.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and highly detail-oriented.
