BOP Technician - Wind Power Plant (Bukhara)

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and reliable Electrical Technician to join our Operations & Maintenance team at one of ACWA Power’s wind power plants in Uzbekistan.
The technician will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of the substation and high-voltage electrical systems that support the plant’s daily operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor substation equipment (up to 220 kV) to ensure safe and reliable power distribution.
• Perform daily checks on substation reliability, transformers, cables, and control systems.
• Use the desktop control system to monitor and control plant operations remotely.
• Supervise subcontractors performing electrical works within the substation and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, motors, and cables.
• Support inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems up to 500kV.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, and technical reports in English.
• Follow all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) procedures and contribute to a safe working culture.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering (qualified electrician).
• Experience:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance or substation operations.
  • Experience in power plants, GTL projects, or refineries is required.
  • Prior wind farm experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Technical skills:
  • Hands-on knowledge of high-voltage systems (up to 220kV).
  • Strong understanding of substation operations, transformers, and cable systems.
  • Holder of Electrical Group 5 authorization (up to 220kV).
• Language: English level B1–B2 (able to write technical reports and communicate effectively).
• Schedule: Monday to Friday (onsite).
